Whitecap NPI, a 240-acre development, is breaking ground on North Padre Island in Corpus Christi, Texas. The co-developers, Ashlar Development LLC and Diamond Beach Holdings, recently hosted an event to celebrate the milestone. Whitecap NPI is set to become the first coastal luxury residential and resort destination on the island.
The community will comprise over 600 residences, including single-family homes, villas, condos, and cross-generational housing. The plan entails executing the entire project in four phases over ten years at an estimated cost of $800 million.
Whitecap NPI’s President, Steve Yetts, emphasized that the development intends to set a new standard for coastal living by enhancing the communal feeling through canal and street-level experiences.
Development Plans for Whitecap NPI
The community integration with the natural landscape and the Gulf Coast is the center of the Whitecap NPI design concept.
Residents will enjoy a yacht club, a dry stack marina, retail shops, dining options, and entertainment venues. Many homes will offer canal access for boating and water sports. Bridges, boardwalks, and walking paths will connect these homes to the rest of the community.
PLACE Designers Inc. will handle residential architecture, and Turner Ramirez Architects will manage commercial and amenity design. The landscape architecture is the responsibility of Cadence, while structural engineering falls under LJA Engineering LLC. DeLeo and Fletcher Design will work on the interior design, and Strategyst LLC will handle marketing and sales.
