Air France has announced its plans to construct a new lounge at LAX’s Tom Bradley International Terminal. This lounge will be located in the vast international terminal in Los Angeles’ West Gates area. The initial estimated size of the lounge is 11,500 square feet, with the option to expand to 13,800 square feet if desired by Air France. While it may not be the largest in the world, it is notably larger than most Air France lounges in North America, and comparable in size to the American Express Centurion Lounge at LAX.

Once the new lounge opens, it is expected to be a popular choice for SkyTeam passengers departing from Los Angeles, especially for those who have already experienced the Oneworld Lounge or the average-quality Korean Air KAL Lounge. Delta international passengers, who currently depart from Terminals 2 and 3, can continue to enjoy the newly renovated Delta Sky Club at LAX.

More Details and History on the Air France LAX Lounge

The brand-new Air France lounge is likely to attract first-class and business travelers. Air France offers up to four daily flights to Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and an additional daily flight to Tahiti (PPT). KLM, Air France’s sibling company, operates up to two daily flights to Amsterdam (AMS). In addition, passengers with SkyTeam Elite Plus status and premium cabin passengers of other SkyTeam carriers, including Korean Air and Chinese carriers, will also have access to this lounge.

The plan to open an Air France lounge in Los Angeles has been in the works for several years. Initially, the airport approved Air France’s request to operate a lounge in the terminal under a 10-year leasing agreement. However, this decision was made in early March 2020, just days before the aviation industry was severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
