Construction has begun on a residential apartment complex called Humble Park in downtown Wilmington, Delaware. The developer of this $16 million project is Buccini/Pollin Group. This development will bring housing opportunities and 250 construction jobs to Wilmington. Recently, Buccini/Pollin Group (BPG) hosted a groundbreaking event to celebrate the project, with Mayor Purzycki in attendance.
Mayor Mike Purzycki commended BPG for bringing the Humble Park residential development to Wilmington. He emphasized that housing is just as crucial as businesses in attracting more residents to the city. Therefore, he stated that Wilmington needs more housing projects like Humble Park, particularly in its downtown neighborhood.
The Humble Park residential development is located at 317 N. Market St., at the intersection of 4th and Market Streets. This convenient location provides easy access to the Wilmington Train Station. Future residents will also have access to the nearby Transit Center, local employment hubs, and neighborhood attractions.
Number of Units at the Humble Park Community
The Humble Park community will feature 61 apartment units spread across three buildings, ranging from four to six stories. It will consist of one and two-bedroom apartments, with shared amenities such as a fitness center, resident lounge, and co-working spaces. All units will have quartz countertops, LVT flooring, stainless steel appliances, and in-unit washer and dryer facilities. Additionally, the center of the building will have a lightwell to provide ample natural light for residents in interior units.
Digsau is responsible for designing the Humble Park community, incorporating historic characteristics of the neighborhood while maintaining a contemporary look. Furthermore, Dave Sanchez (Chez Creative), an artist, musician, and co-owner of Spaceboy Clothing, will design a mural for the property.
Buccini/Pollin Group and BPGS construction will handle all construction and development work on the Humble Park residential project. ResideBPG, a residential affiliate of BPG, will be responsible for leasing and property management. The developer expects the project to be completed by the summer of 2024.
